I currently carry the Canon C300 Mk II as my main camera ably seconded by the Canon 5D Mk IV. This has come about through my experience as a freelance editor working with footage from the C300 Mk I and the Sony FS7.

To put it simply I found that I was more able to achieve the results I wanted with the C300 footage than that from the FS7 and as most of my output is edited by me it made sense to upgrade to the C300 Mk II.

In 2017 I gained my CAA Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) and acquired a DJI Phantom 4 Pro+. This has proved to be a really impressive piece of kit with 4K camera sensor technology that is truly capable of standing up against the C300.

On the support side of things I carry two pro tripods, a DJI Ronin gimbal plus Flycam Flow-line, an 8ft slider plus the Edelkrone SliderPlus with Target and Motion rigs for smooth orbital shots.

I am equipped for chromakey work with 2 large green screens, a 5 point soft lighting kit and an Autocue iPad teleprompt kit.

For sound recording I bring along a selection box containing a Sennheiser 416 and a long fibreglass boom, two sets of Sennheiser G2 radio packs with Sony ECM-88 lavalier mics and a Beyerdynamic M58 stick mic. These can plug in to the C300 and/or the Marantz PMD661 digital audio recorder.

In addition to this I also have a set of 12 Zoom H1 audio recorders with desk stands and floor stands. These are particularly useful for recording sound in multiple person set ups such as round table meetings or panel discussions.

All this plus 3 GoPro action cameras with a full array of mounts and widgets adds up to what I believe is a location shooting package for just about every occasion and offers excellent value for money.
